Service Objective
1. To Provide residential service to aged residents.
2. To promote and maintain the health of aged residents.
3. To promote amicable relations among the residents.

Brief History
Buddhist Sum Ma Shui Ying Care and Attention Home for the Elderly is the first subvented home operated by the Hong Kong Buddhist Association. Total capacity is 255 placements.
The capital cost of our Home is very substantial, amounting to over 35 million. It was very fortunate in the start to receive a benevolent donation of 10 million from Sum Heung Lam Fund towards the capital cost. Appreciation also goes to the Social Welfare Department for its' generous grant of 25 million from the Lotteries Fund to make this project possible in May 1993.

Service Overview

1. Personal care service - Our personal care workers assist the daily activities of elderly residents, such as feeding, bathing, toileting, shopping, escorting to clinic and so on.
2. Laundry service - Our laundry workers wash the clothes of residents everyday. Their bedding will also be changed and washed regularly.
3. Meal service - Our cook will provide five meals a day. The elders can choose either ordinary or vegetarian dishes. Special diet can also be arranged for residents with special needs to suit their medical condition.
4. Counseling service - Our social workers will provide counsel to elders who are facing problems.
5. Leisure activities - Our social workers will also arrange recreational and educational programmes to the elders, such as interest groups, picnics, seasonal gatherings, educational talks and visits.
6. Medical service - We have a nursing staff working on shift round the clock to make sure the elders receive appropriate services when needed. In addition, visiting medical officers from a nearby hospital also pay regular visits to our Home to review the health condition of our residents.
7. Physiotherapy / occupational therapy - Our therapist will assess the ability of elderly residents and design appropriate treatment plans. This would help them maintain their ability to look after themselves and delay the rate of deterioration.
